Many of us dream of leading a life that is lived on our own terms. A life lived beyond the stresses of the 9-5 working world. A life of fulfilment (see – the law of attraction teachings . )
However, despite this being the dream for so many people, why do so few actually decide to do anything about it? So what exactly is it that we’re all so afraid of? Should you too are struggling to make that decision whether or not to leave your 9-5 job in pursuit of your dreams, then try asking yourself the following questions:
1.If Not Now, Then When?
We are eternally putting off what can be done today, in favour of doing it tomorrow. This may be putting up with a relationship that we are unhappy in, not leaving our unfulfilling job or putting off starting a whole new exercise routine – we do this, promising ourselves that tomorrow will be different.
But ask – if not today then when? When you think about it, you will also have a million reasons for not quitting your day job and pursuing your dreams. But if you choose to listen to these, you will only live a life of regrets.
2.What Will Be Different Next Time?
Occasionally, it can be all too easy to blame our dislike of the 9-5 lifestyle on the current job role that we are in. Due to this, we move department, job role or company in the hope that something will change. Nonetheless, this isn’t the case. They are in a different building, but have the same early mornings, pressures and sense of entrapment they had in their other 9-5 roles.
So if you think your way out of your 9-5 rut could be waiting in another office, then ask yourself – will carrying out this actually help to make things any different?
3.Would you Do It If Money Wasn’t An Issue?
Probably the biggest reason for people not walking away from their jobs, is the fear of financial insecurity. They worry that with no security of a 9-5 pay cheque they will be unable to support themselves or their families. However, this doesn’t have to be the case (see – law of attraction wealth .)
But is there really that much truth to this fear? Surely practically nothing in life can promise us security – even the wealthiest individuals at times lose it all. It is not uncommon for our fears to over exaggerate the amount of money we believe we will need.
4.If You Were Asked To Look Back On Your Life In 10 Years’ Time, What Would You Want To See?
Time is often a great help for putting things into better perspective for us. So ask yourself the important question – in 10 years time what would you have wanted your life to look like? If it was to look the exact same as it does now, would you be happy?
Nobody wants to look back at their life 10 years down the line, and feel regret for the many things that they never did.
5.What’s The Worst That Can Happen?
Finally, if you are really struggling to take that big leap and leave the 9-5 grind once and for all, then the question that you need to ask yourself is this – what’s the worst that can happen? No really, what is it?
Our imagination can be our biggest enemy, so begin to listen a little less to your fears and a little more to your dreams. You know you were born for more than this – so what’s stopping you?
